Lighthouse Sv. Petar
Lighthouse Sv. Petar was built in 1884 on the peninsula with the same name; 30 minutes walk to the centre of Makarska. The peninsula itself is a forest park and the lighthouse building has a five persons apartment. The town Makarska is a famous destination along the Adriatic coast and offers many sports and recreation possibilities. The visitors of Makarska would also like to see the lighthouse; this does not make it the ideal place for a peaceful holiday. A visit to Biokovo and its highest mountain Sv. Jure is surely recommended. Perhaps you would like to paraglide some time or just enjoy the splendid view. In the direct surrounding of the lighthouse are various beaches. Along the road of the lighthouse to Makarska you will find a beautiful pebbled beach. This beach is very suitable for children and you will find diverse possibilities for activities. Sv. Petar was a saint, who carried the key of heavens gates with him. The lighthouse has the honours of his name, because the special peninsula with its beautiful beaches, clear sea and the Biokovo-mountain chains in the background will bring you into the sphere of the heavens.
