Description
The house is approximately 250 years old, and has been restored to a high standard from an original cow byre and cellars with living accommodation above. The old beams remain, but warm wooden floors and local quarry tiles have replaced the earth underfoot! There is a sunny patio to the side of the house, with shade from an apple tree. The garden slopes down to attractive woods, and in the centre is the 10m x 5m swimming pool, built and maintained to a high standard. A wooden fence separates the house from the pool for the safety of children. Ground floor: Large sitting room, triple aspect, large fireplace with a wood-burning stove. Exposed stones with original alcoves and beamed ceiling. Large kitchen, also triple aspect with a quarry tiled floor. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a large farmhouse table. From the dining area there are double doors to the patio and garden. The cloakroom has a washbasin, WC and a compact automatic washing machine. To one side of the house stands an open sided barn, which is used to shelter the car and as a wood store. The surrounding countryside is green and attractive, with rolling hills. There are many delightful walks from the door.
