The old church in Voss, dating from the Mid-dle Ages, is one of the most beautiful anywhere in West-ern Norway and well worth a visit. If you prefer an active holiday, Voss offers rafting, paragliding, horse riding in the mountains, sports angling, mountain hikes, bicycle tours, kayak trips, parasailing, para-chuting, sightseeing by sea plane, golf - and much more. Nasrøyfjorden and Naerøydalen are among the wildest and most prominent fjord landscapes in the world. The ice erosion in the Quaternary period shaped the U-shaped cross-section in the fjord. The fjord has been a tourist attraction since the middle of the 19th Century. Then as now, visitors were overwhelmed by the beautiful and dramatic landscape. Every year approximately 300,000 tourists include Naerøyfjorden and Stalheim on their list of places to visit.

Large newly built cabin/appartments overlooking Voss, convenient for all local attractions. Because these cabins are privately owned and each has been furnished for each individual owner the arrangement of beds in the various bedrooms will vary from cabin to cabin.You will be able to check the exact arrangement before you book. There is a bar and cafe in receptiona area... For apre ski... FREE childrens ski slope... at the side of the resort... The Hems A Hems is not a true bedroom , rather it is a traditional Norwegian sleeping arrangement consisting of beds or matrasses,often up a fairly steep ladder.(Galleried bedroom) They can often be as much as 4-5 metres above floor level. Bearing this in mind we would not recommend a Hems for the very young or the elderly.

Voss in winter
Voss is one of Norway's most traditional winter sport ven-ues. The varied mountain terrain around Voss could have been made for winter sports. It is not without reason that Voss has fostered more Olympic participants than any other place in the world. Voss offers excellent nursery slopes as well as demand-ing terrain for the most experienced. Voss has also excellent facilities for powder-snow sports. The season is normally from December to April. The alpine slopes at Voss lie between Hanguren and Bav-allen, with a fantastic view of Voss centre. The area is eas-ily accessible with a cable car running from Voss centre and excellent parking facilities in Bavallen. Voss has more than 40 km prepared slopes, divided among 14 runs from green to black. A total of 10 lifts carry you safely up to almost 1,000 metres above sea level. Big Jump, rails and boarder cross are located at Slettafjellet. Voss also offers a full pro-gramme of activities with professional instructors and a children's play area - «Badnakrokjen» (Kid's Corner) with a separate children's lift. The Voss School of Skiing is situated at the topmost sta-tion of Hangursbanen and offer instruction in alpine, telemark and snowboard-ing disciplines.The school is open daily in season. Every Wednesday and Friday there is floodlight skiing in Bavallen from 17-21 h. Various types of skis, equipment and snow boards can be rented from facilities at the topmost station of the Hangursbanen and in BavalLen near the Bavallen lift. Voss Fjellheisar AS is responsible for all ski lifts as well as preparation of the slopes and runs. Snow machines can guaran-tee perfect skiing conditions through-out the winter season. When the ski lifts close for the day it's after ski time, and you can choose between many pubs, bars and restaurants. Some hotels have swimming pools and you find an activity centre with bowling, squash and health club. The cinema in Voss screens all the latest films. We can offer ice fishing or skating on frozen lakes, or how about a ride on a horse-drawn sleigh? In Myrkdalen, 26 km north of Voss in the direction of Vik, there is a new ski-centre.
