Nasrøyfjorden and Naerøydalen are among the wildest and most prominent fjord landscapes in the world. The ice erosion in the Quaternary period shaped the U-shaped cross-section in the fjord. The fjord has been a tourist attraction since the middle of the 19th Century. Then as now, visitors were overwhelmed by the beautiful and dramatic landscape. Every year approximately 300,000 tourists include Naerøyfjorden and Stalheim on their list of places to visit.
