Cycling and walking in the neighbourhood; various route descriptions can be found in the house. You can enjoy the skiing and langlaufen just 15 kilometres away.

You can ski in Superbesse on the Puy de Sancy (1886 m). There are more green, blue, red and black ski runs. In the past years various ski runs ?with guaranteed snow? were made with snow cannons, this at low tariffs than in other winter sport areas.Via the site of Superbesse (45 km run) (www.superbesse.com) you will receive all the necessary information and you can check whether there is snow on the run by web-cam. Furthermore, Superbesse has the radiance of a winter sport area with all the aspects. There is even a childcare directly at the bottom of the ski runs. It is advised to have winter tyres or to take along snow chains; the Gendamerie checks this. The Puy de Sancy is a mountain from which it is possible to ski from various sides; Superbesse (www.superbesse.com), Mont-Dore (www.mont-dore.com), Chambon de Neige (www.grandvallee.com) and Chastreix-Sancy (www.sancy.com/fr/chastreix) .A good ski pass is valid for all the lifts on all sides of the mountain. Even from cross-country skiing, you can enjoy from a short distance, the beautiful natural surrounding of the Central Massief. In the surrounding are Besse-Pavin , Superbesse , Sancy, Guéry, Sancy-Est and Cezalier-Sancy. The sites from the above indicated ski areas, also provides information over the cross-country skiing. Even skating in a covered hall is possible in Mont-Dore and Superbesse. With harsher frost it is also possible to skate on the lake at the ski runs in Superbesse. In Superbesse you can make use of the covered swimming pool.SummerThe volcanoes have the landscape of the Auvergne formed thousands of years ago. You can admire crater lakes; climb the top of old ?puy?s? and enjoy the beautiful views. Many rivers rise here and there are many (warm) fountains. The history of the volcanic area is shown in VULCANIA theme park in an educational way to the visitors (http://www.vulcania.tm.fr). There are many thermal spa?s where you can wonderfullyenjoy many health programmes e.g. St. Nectaire (http://www.stnect.com), Le Mont-Dore, La Bourboule. De Auvergne is at the same time, a hiking area pre-eminently. The hikes are well indicated and there are good hiking routes available at the local office du tourism (http://www.grandevallee.com)A special nature reserve is ?la vallee de Chaudefour?. A protected nature area, which lies between 800 and 1800 metres high, where you can enjoy an untouched flora and fauna (among others Moufflons). At the Lac Chambon, there is a tourist center set-up with restaurants; little shops; play garden; mini-golf and extra activities during the summer months. From the ?grande plage? you can hire a pedal boat to e.g. go and look at the "isle d'amour" which lies in the middle of the lake, (Not accessible for the public; you may not step out!). Obviously you can enjoy the sun on the beach. It is possible to fish on the lake (info permit at office du tourism). You can view the castle of Murol where ?les compagnons de Gabriel? a theatre group dressed in the costumes from the middle Ages, give animated guided tours during high season (even evenings!). There are a variety of bicycles available in our house. For this there are beautiful cycling routes available at the office du tourism in Murol.
