The Villa
Welcome to the Villa Didyma. Set in the hills overlooking the wonderful bays of the Bodrum - Akbuk peninsula. Relax and enjoy the idyllic settings and fresh aromatic scent of the local mandarin groves. This is a wonderful family villa with all amenities close by, thus ensuring you have a great holiday and at the same time enjoy your privacy. The villa is large enough to accommodate 4 persons in total comfort. The sun lounging area at the front of the villa is the ideal area for getting the perfect tan. You can enjoy spectacular views of the Akbuk sea side and hills in the distance. There are enough sun beds for everyone in the party so no one will feel left out. The pool is cleaned daily and is therefore safe and hygienic for all the family. The pool size is 9 meters by 4 meters and the deepest end is 1 meter 80 cm so this is no postage stamp sized pool! Lots of room for all the party and the shallow end being 90 cm's is also perfect for the toddlers. to comply with safety regulations, pool depths are displayed on the walls The villa boasts masses of exterior lighting for the authentic nightlife feeling. Enjoy a cocktail or two whilst seeing the moon rise over the peninsula and even enjoy a meal or two below the stars. There is in addition to the garden table in the barbeque area, one by the pool side too! The interior of the pool is also lit up at night and the atmosphere is truly electrifying. All the windows in the villa are double glazed for your comfort and convenience There is a BBQ oven in the garden; it is built to a high standard with safety and ease of use paramount. You can buy your barbeque meats from the local butcher or from one of the nearby supermarkets (10 min's) by car. There will be ample seating for 6-8 persons around the barbeque area. Sit back open a few beers or a bottle of the local chilled wine and enjoy yourselves. Coming around the villa you come to the pool area from the barbeque garden. The first thing you will notice is the child safety gate which will ensure that if you have small children with you, then you can feel comfortable in the knowledge that they will not be able to enter the pool area without you letting them in. As always you can see that Villa Didyma is designed with your family's welfare in mind The view along the length of the pool reveals some stunning views of the local surroundings. What a perfect start to the day! Why not take a dip in the pool before breakfast in the warm balmy breeze of the Akbuk peninsula. Your stay at the villa will be truly a memorable one and we hope; will have you returning time after time to re visit us. The interior of the villa is finished to our extremely high standards. The salon is furnished in contemporary style and is bright airy and comfortable. Luxurious Turkish rugs adorn the cool tiles on the villa floor to add a measure of luxury to the setting. The salon has air conditioning with remote control, satellite T.V., video and a stereo CD player so you can listen to your music and relax. There are standard lamps and wall lamps to enhance the mood. In the salon there is ample seating for 8 persons. Access to the pool area can be gained through the french windows from this room. This is the master bedroom if furnished with a king sized bed and ample storage for your clothes. There is the facility to have a child's cot put in the room should you require it. The bedroom is fully air conditioned for your comfort. The en-suite bathroom of the master bedroom comprises of an enclosed shower and cabinet and toilet together with wash hand basin. The master bedroom is huge so plenty of room for everyone's needs. The twin bedded room is also finished to the same high standards and can also accommodate a child's cot if needed. The rooms are light and airy and benefit from lots of cupboard space The Kitchen id fitted with all mod cons a modern electric and gas cooker and fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave and kettle. Multitudes of crockery and kitchen utensils ensure you have all you need to prepare your own culinary delights. Smoke alarms and fire extinguishers and a first aid kit ensure your safety. The kitchen seating area is large enough for 7 persons should you desire not to eat outside in the garden area. The main bathroom situated outside of the bedroom area and comprises of bath and attached shower area (there is hot water 24 hours) and the toilet and washbasin is finished to the same high standard. Towels are provided in every bedroom and also in the bathrooms. Extras Villa Didyma Baby pack Taking your baby on holiday needn't be a chore with the Villa Didyma baby pack. We will supply a baby cot, push chair, car seat, baby bottles, sterilising unit, baby/toddler car sunshade, beach toys and children's video selection will be available for the all inclusive price of £20.00 per week or £40.00 for two weeks. In order to get the most out of your stay we do include many things at no extra cost to you. However in order to remain competitive we have to charge for the following :- The services of a local cook can be had to prepare for you some typically Turkish cuisine which can be prepared either at the villa or outside and delivered to the villa. Prices available on request. The villa is cleaned and serviced every week but for a small additional cost more frequent visits can be arranged .

Altinkum
Set on a sandy bay, Altinkum is a purpose-built resort with a relaxed and informal atmosphere. This is a place for people who love the beach, and there are no fewer than four within easy reach. The Main Beach in front of the resort is a long wide stretch of golden sand, where you can bask in the sun, potter in a pedalo or try out a range of water sports. A mile away, beyond the harbour, the Third Beach offers a quieter environment and its waters are clear and sparkling. When you finally tear yourself away from the sea, Altinkum's shops offer an interesting range of value-for-money goods and souvenirs. Well worth looking out for are leather bags and jackets, designer clothes, Turkish carpets, onyx vases, ornaments and keyrings and gold jewellery in unusual designs. Not forgetting the weekly market in neighbouring Yenihisar, which sells everything from spices to clothes and gives you the opportunity to haggle and have some fun. Guests can enjoy a Gulet boat trip with one of the many experienced Black Island captains. Enjoy your lunch and afternoon tea in one of the many secluded coves of the Bodrum peninsula. Try your hand at snorkelling and if you feel up to a more adventurous dive then guests can try the nearby approved diving school. Nearby Bodrum and Kusadasi also boast many aqua parks a great day out for young and old alike. Nearby is the wonderful Akbuk beach and every week there is a local market where you can buy traditional Turkish goods and delicacies. The nearest beach is within easy walking distance from the villa and Altinkum is 10 mins drive by car. Bodrum -Milas international airport is approx. 45 mins-1 hours drive from the villa. There are local markets and shops as well as hyper markets where you will find they accept most major credit cards. Most shops are happy to take foreign currency but please be advised Scottish notes and those issued by Northern Irelands banks are not accepted. You can't come to Altinkum without visiting some of the nearby ancient sites. Only 4km away is the Temple of Apollo at Didyma. Three columns still stand to their full height measuring 19.70 metres and 2.40 metres in width. A mass of marble stumps gives an idea of the colossal size of the original structure. Other sites worth visiting include the classical Greek city of Prienne and the ancient port of Miletus, now landlocked by the silting up of the River Maeander There are various local markets in the locality where a range of home produced fruits and vegetables can be purchased. Fresh eggs, local cheeses and home baked village bread are also readily available. The local drink is Raki and this can be purchased locally for those balmy summer evening by the pool.
