This beach is known as the 'Main Beach' and can be reached by a 5 – 10 minute walk from our beautiful apartment.
There is also a more quieter and secluded beach in the area known as 'Third Beach'. This can be reached by a 5 minute walk from the apartment. It is smaller than main beach and is very peaceful. There are lots of water sports, banana boats etc., there are three bars/restaurants who will bring your drinks etc., to your sun lounger so no need for you to move. They will even take you home at the end of the day as they all provide a free mini bus service. You can also arrange for them to pick you up the following morning to take you to the beach at no charge. Some say that this beach is one of the best in Altinkum.

A Turkish Bath is one of the most relaxing things you can do whilst in Turkey. Then on to the soap foam massage. You can also have an oil massage and a head massage.
Treating Yourself
Beauty treatments in Turkey are a must. Why not treat yourself to a manicure or a pedicure which costs a fraction of the price in England – prices range from £3.00 to £5.00 – also for men, not just for the ladies. A traditional Turkish shave for the men is an experience in itself, using the traditional cut throat razor, try it if you dare! The hair saloons offer cut and blow dry, perms and hair colouring at a very reasonable price and they do a very good job.
Bodrum and Bodrum Castle
Built by Knights of Rhodes in the 15th Century and dedicated to St Peter, the castle took 99 years to be finished. There are 5 towers in this castle, all of which have a name: French, English, Italian, German and Snake Towers. The castle covers approximately 30,0000 sq meters. There is a museum inside the castle. It is one of the biggest and important museums of its kind in the world. Relics recovered from excavation since 1960's are on display. The Eastern Mediterranean Amphora collection as well as findings resulting from research on sunken ships in the immediate vicinity are on display. The remains of the oldest sunken ship in the world are also here and well-worth a visit.
Bodrum itself is a delightful cosmopolitan resort. Its beautiful harbour takes precedent with its many yachts and boats, making it an ideal setting for that lazy drink along the waters edge. From here you can catch a boat trip to Kos in Greece, which is a fantastic day out. This is a bustling resort with plenty of shops, bazaars and markets (don't forget to haggle). There are lots of restaurants and cafes along the harbour front and many restaurants where you can sit by the sea. It really is a lovely day out and Bodrum is not to be missed. It is not overbearing and there is something for everyone ranging from discos and lively bars to the more relaxed where you can have a quiet drink. Altinkum is as lively or as quiet as you like it. The harbour and Dolphin Square is lined with lively venues, you can also opt for one of the back street bars, which are much quieter. There are numerous restaurants and a wide range of different cuisines – ranging from English, Italian, Mexican, Turkish, Chinese to name but a few. There are plenty of Turkish speciality dishes which we recommend you try as they are delicious. If you order the Turkish dish which is cooked in a traditional clay pot you will have the full treatment of it being brought out with fire, dancing etc., something not to be missed. All are reasonably priced. You can even get the good old Sunday roast which is excellent value.
