Getting there
A car is an absolute must. Scrignac is in North/Central Brittany on the D42 off the N12 signposted at the N12 for Guerlesquin/Plestin-les-Greves. When you reach Guerlesquin, Scrignac is signposted up to the right at the top of the main square. On arriving in the main (only) square in Scrignac, and parking opposite the Post Office, Route de Leinguern is on the left-hand side of the PO running north beside the church. No. 25 is maybe 200 yards down the hill on the left-hand side beyond a couple of fields. It is almost hidden behind the next-door house.

Sunshine and privacy
The lovely garden is private and full of birdsong for just lazing and taking the sun, and the road is a cul-de-sac anyway so there is very little traffic either by car or on foot. In the village there is a shop, chemist, post office, two bars and the mairie. The best ordinary restaurant for miles is the Hotel le Senechal in the bourg, (Scrignac), on the corner of the square. The Pomme au Four, facing the very top of the harbour in Morlaix is another favourite. The biggest markets are Morlaix Saturday, Plestin Sunday. Also Guerlesquin Monday (worth a visit, most ethnic), Huelgoat Thursday. There are small but sufficient supermarkets in Guerlesquin and Huelgoat (Both about eight miles). The biggest are in Morlaix and Carhaix-Plouger, in opposite directions

Round and about
Have a good time! We wish you good weather. There are plentiful walks in the forests and countryside roundabout. Beach to the north is at Locquirec (beyond Plestin -les- Greves; 40 easy minutes) and down towards Douarnenez and the Presqu'ile de Crozon (Camaret and Morgat) over to the west (1 and a quarter hours). The historic towns of Quimper and Morlaix are very much worth a visit, The nearest ports: By air: Brest (one hour); Dinard (one and a half hours). Ryanair also flies into Rennes, which is further away again. By sea: Roscoff (one hour), St Malo (two hours), both served by Brittany Ferries; Le Havre (four and a half hours), LD Lines; Boulogne (seven and a half hours), SpeedFerries. The last two are much the cheapest, though a long drive (on very good and often empty motorways) and could make a holiday in themselves if you were to break the journey part way.
