The Real Spain
Everyone has visited the noisy crowded costal areas of Spain but late 2004 was the first time we saw the real Spain. It`s country side amass of olive groves as far a the eye could see dotted with cherry and almond trees. The people are so friendly and welcoming. The mountains of the Sierra Nevada are breathtaking. But it`s the unhurried way of life that strikes you the most. manana.

History
There area is seeped in history, places like Alcala real, Montefrio and Moclin are well worth a visit. The city of Granada with its Moorish churches and the beautiful cathedral, gypsy quarter and Alhambra Palace would take days to explore. The open top tours bus is a must dropping you throughout the city to shop or sightsee.

Restaurants & Bars
There are many restaurants and bars with the village and surrounding areas. The local bars do a Menu, usually at lunch time at a set price. 3 courses for about 6.50 euros. You must remember this is the real Spain so everything stops for siesta between 2pm and 5pm.Shops close and people sleep. Bread and vegetables can be brought most days from little vans that stop outside all the houses and toot their horn.
