On a surface of 76km2, a magnificent natural area stretches out, with the fjord-like lake in the middle, with water so clear, you can drink it!. In winter, the Weißensee is the largest skating-surface in Central-Europe! Many annual feasts are held there and competitions on ice are organized. Skating races, ice-hockey...the Weißensee offers all the winterish fun one could imagine! The lake is known for its alternative Eleven City Race, great Dutch tradition. There are also many beautiful cross-country slopes around the lake, with 13 different tracks. For ski-lovers, a stay in Gastschach is ideal. The ski-area of Naggler-Alm is great for families with children. It is a small-scale resort, very pleasant for those who want to avoid packed slopes. And the warm after-ski atmosphere has preceded Carinthia also .... In summer, the Ferienhaus Schwarzenbacher is a delicious departure point for hikes and climbing. From the mountains of Carinthia, one can also easily reach the Italian Dolomites. If you have always dreamt of flying, you might be able to realize your ulitmate wish on the Emberger Alm. Instructed by a flying-school, you can try a tandem flight. And if you are interested to take a flying course, it is possible as well. If you like fishing, then fishing paradise 'Weißensee' is the place for you. Close to Ferienhaus Schwarzenbacher there is even a private fishing territory of 1,5 km, which comes with a rowing boat.
