Why did we buy this house
We really liked the quality and the fact that the house is on a secure golf course. The course can only be played by residents or owners of properties on Polaris World. Mar Menor Golf Resort is a small development of houses without any highrise apartment blocks. Most of the villas are detached. The house is really well presented and furnished and we are delighted with our new pool in the back garden. The resort has a newly opened "social centre" which has a large swimming pool, bar and restaurant. There is also a gym, spa facilities and you can enjoy treatments from manicures to sport massages. The whole resort has a real quality feel to it from the moment you drive through the security gate. The new hotel is stunning and because it is an InterContinental everything will be of the finest quality

The area
Just five minutes from the resort is the seaside town of Los Alcazares, impossible to say, but really well worth a visit. It has a great nightlife with cafes and restaurants having their tables outside in the pretty squares or plazas. The beach itself stretches on for miles and it is white and very sandy. The safe and shallow waters of the Mar Menor are ideal for children. Also an ideal place to learn to sail or windsurf. 5 minutes in the other direction is the town of Torre Pacheco which is very spanish. Torre Pacheco has some wonderful shops and an ideal place for shopping for clothes or leather goods. There is a large street market in Los Alcazares on a Tuesday, and Santiago de Ribera on a Wednesday
