About the Area
The area is full of tourist attractions and you will find lots to do during your holiday. Brinon sur Saldre is very quiet and very French. It is surrounded by woodland and is great for walking, running and cycling. The village has two food shops, two patisseries, three bars and restaurants and more. Larger towns can be found within a ten minute drive.

Things to do and places to go during your stay at French Folly
Brinon sur Sauldre The village has everything that you need within walking distance, you can get your bread and croissant from the village and we have two supermarkets, an hotel and three bars, a church, a chateau, two hairdressers and a wine merchants. Aubigny sur Nere This ‘scottish' town is our nearest and has great restaurants, a chateau, a market on a Saturday morning and some shopping. It is worth visiting if only to discover why there is a Scottish town in the Loire. Sancerre Head in the direction of Aubiny and beyond for a scenic ride through vineyards to this spectacular hilltop town. This is a picturesque location with a square full of restaurants and bars. Sancerre is a good place to buy wine. Lamotte Beuvron Lamotte is a quiet small town that has a market on a Wednesday morning. There is a public swimming pool in Lamotte and we like the Pergola pizza restaurant (just on the North edge of town). Gien This is a gorgeous town on the banks of the Loire . You will be ale to visit the hunting museum here and the chateau. Beyond this the town of Montagris is reputedly very beautiful (and a UNESCO world heritage site). Orleans We like Orleans , it is worth making the short trip to visit. The cathedral can be seen from the bridge over the Loire on your drive into the city. The shopping here is great and there are lots of bars and restaurants, Park Floral de la Source This park is well signposted on the drive into Orleans . It has beautiful gardens and a butterfly house and there is a ‘train' to take visitors around the gardens. There are cafes and playgrounds and you could easily spend a day here. Zoo Parc de Beauval This is a wonderful family day out. This zoo has so many things to see and do. It is famous for its white tigers which are a must. You will struggle to see everything here in a day. Ferte St Aubin The chateau here is a favourite with children. The ‘chateau ‘itself is ok but the grounds are great. There are islands with houses for the children to play in and in, there are wild goats and ducks and geese and there is an old train carriage to play in.

About French Folly
French Folly has 6 bedrooms, five of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. The largest of the bedrooms makes a great playroom for lazy days. It is well stocked with toys and games. French Folly has a large garden and a 3 -4 car garage. Children can play safely outdoors, as the garden is fully enclosed with lockable external gates. The house is furnished to a high standard and will sleep 12 easily. The bedrooms are furnished to provide three double rooms, two twin rooms [the beds can be pushed together] and a children's room with a bunk bed and a cot. French Folly is in on the wooded outskirts of the small village Brinon sur Saldre, in the Loire Valley. The nearest big town is Orleans, about 40 minutes away by car.
