You'll find the Castle of San Gusmè in Chianti, a beautiful medieval fortified village that appears at documents of the IX Century, following the road from Castelnuovo Berardenga to Baron Ricasoli's Castello di Brolio. The castle, 465 meters over the sea level is ideally located among castles, villas and Chianti farmhouses and can be considered one of the most characteristic buildings of Tuscany. San Gusmé, with its ancient arches and doors, its narrow streets and its beautiful buildings has kept intact the atmosphere of the 1200, allowing the tourists to live some unforgettable moments. The original name of the village was San Cosma e Damiano, Saint of the local church that dates back to the 1000's. There is also another Church SS. Annunziata that dates back to the XIV Century. Located between Siena and Florence, it served its function for many centuries unril the black plague changed the Tuscan politics in the Middleages. The outside portions of the castle are adorned by beautiful villas and farmhouses the Tuscan lords built during the 18th and 19th century. The inside parte is ridged by tiny narrow streets, and massive walls stare at you wile you walk through the streets until a surprisingly beautiful scenery opens in front of you and you can find yourself (as I did) staring at the horizon while the evening breeze salutes your rediscovered contact with Nature. Suddenly you want to know more about it all, but later, not today. First you want to digest this environment and make it yours, even if just for a bit. Cars pass by so rarely that it seems another time in history, and the sounds from inside the homes give you the feeling you are not a foreigner, but that someone may actually call up to you and invite you to eat with them. Simplicity is the main thing at San Gusme, and this is the place where you want to be if you want to relax and let it all go, even if just for a little bit. The apartment is located at the prestigious Palazzo Braschi, without any doubt one of the most fascinating buildings of the Village. The building is from the XV Century, and it is considered one of the oldest in the village. The apartment has kept the original fireplace and an arch dating back to the XV Century, it has been completely furnished following the Tuscan style. It is the ideal place for those looking for a little quiet but also for who wants to discover new places full of traditions and art in Tuscany.

ACCOMODATION
This 50 squared meters apartment is the ideal place for 2 people willing to spend their holidays enjoying some peace and quiet. However, it can easily accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children under 10. It's located at the second floor of the ancient and prestigious Palazzo Braschi (the oldest building of the Castle of San Gusmé, dating back to the XV Century). The apartment, and the building itself, has been recently restored, keeping all the main characteristics of the ancient property: cotto floors and the original wooden ceilings and fireplace. Our guests might see themselves how accurately we have look after all the small details in order to keep the ancient atmosphere of the apartment and make your holidays unforgettable. Once in the apartment you will find a large living room/kitchen equipped with oven, fridge, freezer and everything you may need for up to 4 people. At the living room we find a sofa bed and a bench where our guests can sit and relax in front of the fireplace. The bedroom is very spacious and bright and it is equipped with a very romantic wrought iron double bed and a wardrobe dating back to the 800's. The bathroom is all decorated in white and pink ceramics and it is equipped with shower. It is the ideal place for those looking for a little quiet but also for who wants to discover new places full of traditions and art in Tuscany.

For stays longer for three nights or longer guests can enjoy a complimentary bottle of Chianti Classico Gallo Nero, a typical Tuscan salami, a bottle of Vin Santo dessert wine and a box of delicious cantuccini a local almond biscuit. Nearby Facilities In San Gusmè, just some meters away from the apartment, you can find a luxury restaurant and a wine bar where it's possible to eat typical Tuscan dishes and taste excellent wines (the wine bar is one of the best in the region). Both, the restaurant and the wine bar are very spacious and are open until late. You can also find the best products of the area, vegetables, fruits, different meats or cheese. In San Gusmè there is also a bar recently renovated for those who prefer to enjoy the Tuscan taste in a more informal way. There are also two areas with games for children and adults, and two churches. 5 km away there is Castelnuovo Berardenga, where you can find everything you may need such as: chemistry, supermarket, banks and restaurants. 2 km away there is Villa Sesta, a village famous for the polo club.
