Local dolmus run frequently to the beaches, the ancient market/harbour town of Fethiye and Kayakoy the ("ghost town"). The popular resort of Olu Deniz is only a short Dolmus ride away, Where the western most point of the Taurus Mountains dip into the sea, to form sandy bays and coves...where sunlight reflects upon the pebbled sea bed to turn the Med to turquoise...Set into such a landscape lies the resort of Olu deniz, with it's famous glistening beach and Blue Lagoon. Olu Deniz has one of the best beaches in the Med, perfect for sun worshippers and has to be seen to be believed. The ancient and bustling harbour town of Fethiye is 7km from Hisaronu. It's busy centre provides the holiday maker with a combination of essential shops and services such as supermarkets and banks, plus a myriad of streets providing souvenirs, leather, gold and carpets, as well as many restaurants, bars and dancing clubs. The magnificent natural harbour, one of the biggest on the Mediterranean, has a wonderful promenade dotted with bars and restaurants and is a relaxing place to enjoy a beer, some good food and to watch the world go by or if your type of holiday is not lying around on one of the many beautiful beaches the area has to offer, then why not try Scuba Diving, Paragliding, Boat trips or Horse Riding to name but a few. PARAGLIDING Soar through the sky like a bird with an experienced pilot along the beautiful southern coast of Turkey. You will experience some of the most beautiful views of the coast of Turkey starting from 6000 feet you will take off from the Babadag mountain and fly for 30-40 minutes rising up with the thermals before landing on Olu deniz Beach. From one whose been up there don't miss this opportunity for an experience of a lifetime. JEEP SAFARI'S Time to get dirty whilst having lots of fun! Visit the Rock Tombs of Tlos, tickle the trout at Yakapark (open buffet lunch here), on the gorge, the ancient site of Xanthos and the long sandy beach of Patara. You choose whether you drive or you can be driven. SCUBA DIVING For the absolute beginner and certified diver the crystal clear turquoise waters in Ölüdeniz and Fethiye area offer a variety of diving from calm shallow reefs to caverns, walls, drop offs and tunnels. The type of Marine life varies from large grouper, moray eels, octopus, tuna, jacks, barracuda's and lobster. There are many forms of fauna and coral showing their glorious colours. The Aegean & Mediterranean with its warm calm, tide free seas make this area ideal for both newly certified and more experienced divers. BOAT TRIPS – ST NICHOLAS Board the boat in Ölü Deniz for a day you won't forget. Swim in the Blue Cave before stepping ashore at Butterfly Valley. For the more energetic, a climb up to the Waterfall, where you might spot a rare Tiger Butterfly is not to be missed. Lunch is served on the boat before a stop at St. Nicholas Island where you can climb amongst ruins to the top of the island for magnificent views. For the daring of you a swim at "Cold Spring Bay" where a fresh water spring leaks in to the sea is most refreshing! (Masks and snorkels available on the boat).
