For those interested in history, there are Roman ruins, castles, Romanesque churches, museums, medieval villages and the famous "Ruta del Cister", the three Cistercian monasteries Santes Crues, Poblet and Vallbona de les Monges, that are located less then 30 minutes away. The Baix Penedes region is famous for its varied wines and cava. Catalunya is also famous for winning the second prize in Europe for it's fine olive oil.
