The Midtstoga forms part of the prevously named "Straumen" and is situated on the "sunny side of the Vradal valley. It is a waterside property... nestled in between the lakes Nisser (meaning Father Christmas in Norwegian) and Vravaten. There is a lock gate separating the two lakes and the farm. Literally metres from the waterside with small beaches the property goes from a height of 202 metres above sea level to over 1018 metres. So there are plenty of oppertunities for various kinds of activities both in the Winter and Summer. Pine Forests... Beaches... Mountains and lakes... Fikebekk has it all... On the water... activities include boat hire, fishing, canoeing, veteran steamer cruises.... Of course when the weather is right you can swim from the many beaches on the islands or just metres from the house. There is an abundance of wildlife too... Moose, deer and plenty of "busy" beavers in the lake... Trips can be arranged to view the animals in their natural surroundings. During the winter months... There is a childrens ski lift on the farm property. With a safe sledge run too... Candle lit at night it is the perfect environment for your children to play safely within walking distance of the house. Snow scooter rides can be arranged too for the older ones! More on the Midtstoga itself... The house sleeps up to 10.. but 8 is the perfect number. With a sauna... dishwasher, and two open fires you will be perfectly comfortable. The house is built from solid timbers and decorated in a tastefull Norwegian farmhouse style... The farm has resident animals ... rabbitts...chickens... sheep and horses. Linen can be ordered at £12.00 per set and must be ordered in advance. Please let us know when booking how many sets are required. Final cleaning must be ordered in advance and paid for. Or the house must be cleaned to the standard you found it in... before your departure.

Skiing at the Vradal Ski Centre just a few minutes drive...
Cross country skiing has long been a tradition in Norway. In Vrådal we prepare 40 to 60 km of ski slopes in mountainous terrain, in the valley, over fields, in the forest and on safe ice. Most of the winter you may start skiing from your own chalet. Season: Christmas through to Easter. Ski rental and ski instructions are available at the Vrådal Skisenter. The Vrådal Skisenter is only 2kms away. It is one of the biggest ski centres in Southern Norway... famous for the first 8-seater chairlift in the world. In addition Vrådal Skisenter runs four other lifts and prepares fifteen pistes. The longest piste is 3 600 m and has a vertical drop of 473 m. One of the biggest snow production system in Norway makes it possible to open the skicenter in the middle of December and keep it in good condition until the middle of April. Snowboarding at Vrådal Skisenter ... The slopes are designed for all levels of expertise -both beginners and advanced alpine/Telemark skiers and snow boarders. Good possibilities for off-piste skiing. The chairlift has so great a capacity that there is a guarantee that the wait is no longer than 5 minutes! The Vrådal Skisenter offers ski rental and ski tuition. Two cafeterias serve food, beverage and lounges for relaxing. Children under 6 years can use the lifts free of charge. Open: 10 AM to 04 PM all days in the winter.Snowshoeing... the latest craze! Snowshoeing is exciting for all lovers of the out doors...Different types of snowshoes have been used in the Nordic countries for at least for 6.000 years. In the last years new technology and modern light weight materials have led to a development of snowshoes well suited for easy walking on slopes and off-piste in deep snow. Walking with snowshoes is easy to learn and the terrain in Vrådal is ideal for making long or short trips on slopes in the forest or above the tree line. The snow creates a romantic atmosphere - a white winter wonderland far from noise and stress.
