Yalikavak
Yalikavak is used to be a fishing and sponge divers village. This costile region is ideal for sailing and all water sports and attracts many foreign yachts to the harbour that once sheltered mainly fishing boats.Yalikavak is known for superb sunsets and its unspoilt shoreline. The town still supports a thriving fishing industry, and the restaurants around the picturesque harbor display a wide selection of fresh fish every day. Yalikavak is famous for the numerous windmills found in the vicinity. The winds that until recently turned the vanes of these working windmills, now fill the sails of boats and windsurfs. There are many shops in the traffic free center, and every week the town hosts one of the biggest fruit, vegetable markets on the Bodrum Peninsula. The cosmopolitan town of Bodrum is twenty minutes away with many kinds of entertainment and cultural activity available. Bodrum keeps the noise and flashing lights as you escape back to your Yalikavak hideway.
