This property is situated in the center of Amsterdam, around the corner of the Anne Frank house, and in walking distance of van Gogh, Stedelijk and Rijks musea. You will find many restaurants, bars and shops just ouside your door. You do not need a car in Amsterdam since almost anything is within walking distance. Otherwise public transportation is avaible and frequent. To park a car in Amsterdam is actually difficult and expensive.
Dutch sites outside, but close to, Amsterdam
If you like to see something outside of Amsterdam, you can also visit -by means of public transport- very old and typical Dutch places such as Marken (a former island), where inhabitants are dressed in old fashioned costumes; Alkmaar to watch the famous cheese market, a performance in a rich historic scenery. You can also visit the Floriade (2003) with it's brilliantly designed large gardens or the famous Keukenhof with it's fascinating tulip and other flower compositions, or visit picturesque Dutch cities such as Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Monnikendam, all cities arising from the golden era.
If you like beaches, take a train and visit Zandvoort on the North Sea. Also the lakes of Loosdrecht or the IJsselmeer (Muiden) provide all kinds of water sport facilities such as rental of sailing, or motor boats, possibilities for water skiing, etc.
