Welcome to Villa St. Elias
Villa St. Elias is a beautiful modern villa with spectacular sea and mountain views, situated in a peaceful location a few minutes walk from the harbourside town of Orebic, with its sandy beaches, shops and restaurants. Only 90 minutes from Dubrovnik in Southern Croatia our detached villa offers 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, 3 balconies, a large terrace and private garden. The villa is set out over 3 floors and can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people with car parking provided for up to 4 cars. The villa is situated at the base of Mount St. Elias, and offers spectacular panoramic views across the sparkling Adriatic sea with the island of Korcula visible in the distance and has the stunning backdrop of the mountain to the rear of the villa. The bedrooms have access to one of the balconies and the living room leads to a large terrace, perfect for starting the day with an al fresco breakfast or for watching the sunset while enjoying a glass of the locally produced Peljesac wine. The villa also has a barbecue area and large garden planted with a variety of fruit trees and is surrounded by unspoilt lush Mediterranean countryside. It's only a 10 minute stroll to the lovely harbourside town of Orebic on the Peljesac peninsula, which has a variety of shops, cafés and restaurants and a further 5 minutes to the sandy beaches, which have been declared some of the best in Croatia. We can help with all aspects of planning your holiday to Croatia including arranging flights, ferries, car hire, sports activities and sightseeing as well as advising on other matters that may help you organise and enjoy your holiday. Although it is preferable to hire a car during your stay this isn't absolutely necessary as there is a daily bus service from Dubrovnik to Orebic and from there you could use the local ferries to explore the islands or hire bikes to visit some of the traditional villages that dot the coastline.

About the local area
The small town of Orebic, located on the Peljesac peninsula in Southern Croatia remains one of Europes best kept secrets. Only 120kms from the delightful medieval city of Dubrovnik, it's about a 90 minute drive along a spectacular coastal road which offers stunning views of the clear blue Adriatic and many of the unspoilt islands that dot the Dalmatian coastline. This pretty town of about 1500 people was once the home of wealthy sea captains and sailors, who built beautiful houses along the coastline, some of which are still inhabited by the descendants of their families. The town is easy to get around on foot and still retains many links to its past with its attractive historical centre and maritime museum which houses documents and artefacts from its famous seafaring past. There is a wide variety of restaurants and cafes with friendly service, serving great food (especially seafood) and famous local wines, as well as many shops and facilities that will cater for all your needs during your stay. Dominating the scenery on the slopes of Mount St. Elias above Orebic there is a Franciscan Monastery (built 1470) that houses a small museum. After a short walk through the pine forests you are rewarded with unforgettable views over Orebic, and across the Peljesac channel to Korcula, Mljet and Lastovo islands. The area around Orebic offers fantastic walking and cycling opportunities through unspoilt countryside that is still populated by hundred year old pine forests, cypress and almond trees. The coastline is made up of long sandy and pebble beaches with numerous small coves that have the shallow crystal clear waters of the Adriatic lapping the shore. It's only a few kilometres along the coast to the village of Veganj which is Croatia's premier windsurfing location, due to the mistral winds that gently blow through the Peljesac channel, and only a 20 minute ferry ride from Orebic harbour to the island of Korcula which makes for a great day trip.

Things to do
Villa St. Elias offers a perfect base for you to enjoy your holiday, whether you want a relaxing break, a more active holiday or to simply enjoy the Mediterranean as it once was, visiting the historical towns and sites in the area. The Peljesac Peninsula and the area around Orebic in particular is a sports and nature lovers paradise. You can enjoy a wide variety of activities such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, mountain biking, tennis, hiking and hunting. Those who want a more leisurely holiday can spend their time lazing on one of the nearby beaches that provide excellent facilities, as well as plenty of shade and safe swimming in the cleanest sea in the Mediterranean. The Peljesac Peninsula is also a famous wine producing region, and visiting the local vinyards is a must. The high quality soil and plentiful Dalmatian sun provide perfect conditions for the production of excellent wines such as “Dingac” “Postup” and “Peljesac”, one of which will be waiting to welcome you on your arrival at the villa. If all that isn't enough it's only a short ferry journey to Korcula, one of the best preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean or a 90 minute drive to the beautiful UNESCO world heritage city of Dubrovnik, the jewel of the Adriatic, where you can explore the awesome city walls and narrow alleyways and immerse yourself in the vibrant café and arts scene. There are also opportunities to hire a boat or yacht and go island hopping to the nearby islands including Hvar, Lastovo and Mljet, the latter being designated as one of Croatia's national parks.
